Imad Selah & Leana David (Coming Soon)

The grape-growing season was over, but the wedding season wasn't over at Veritas Vineyard and Winery until Imad and Leana tied the knot. The grand finale of their wedding season took place on December 17, and we were their to capture it with a two-camera operation for video and two-camera operation for photography. We shot outdoors, indoors, upstairs, and downstairs in the wine cellar to try and capture as much of the beautiful venue as possible.




Gleaning for the World - Motion Graphics (Coming Soon)

It came as no surprise to Gleaning for the World's followers when Forbes Magazine ranked it the number-one most efficient charity in America. However, for those who aren't familiar with the good works of Gleaning for the World, we produced a two-minute motion-graphics video for the web and 15-second video to air on a 520-square-foot screen in New York City's Times Square every hour for three months at the start of 2012.




MM Hayes - Quickcharge Video (Coming Soon)

What if employees of a business could make on-site, payroll-deducted purchases in seconds by simply swiping their company badge? That's what New York-based MM Hayes set out to answer with their Quickcharge system. They wanted to capture testimonials on the grounds of one of their clients, Centra Health. Through interviews with Centra's vending manager and Quickcharge users along with B-roll of the system in use, we set out to capture Quickcharge's effectiveness in a three-minute video.




Danny Chiles & Jenny Oh - Wedding Video

The rain and fog of Danny and Jenny's October 2011 wedding date couldn't put a damper on one of the happiest days of the couple's life. We were there to capture the day on video at the couple's Spotsylvania- / Fredericksburg-Virginia-area locations, from prep at the historic Stevenson Ridge, to a ceremony at St. Matthew Catholic Church, to a reception and traditional Korean ceremony at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse.




"High on High" by Yaw Osei-Owusu - Music Video

Ghanaian gospel music artist Yaw Osei-Owusu was looking to sync his latest single from his debut album to a music video. Our video of Yaw performing his first single, "Osabarima," had gleaned nearly 30,000 views on YouTube, and we wanted to do the second video bigger and better. From Glidecam shots following Yaw through the streets of downtown Lynchburg, Virginia, to a rooftop overlooking Main Street, "High on High" set out to raise the bar for Ghanaian music videos.




James & Erin Evans - Just-Because Photography (Coming Soon)

James and Erin Evans were the winners of a social media giveaway we did -- a photoshoot at a location of their choice. They ended up choosing Riverview Park, a location set atop the cliffs along the James River. A view of the river below and a field with bright-orange autumn foliage made for the ideal backdrop for some romantic poses and some action shots of the couple's leaf-fighting skills.




Tim Davidson & Mez Nickles - Wedding Photography (Coming Soon)

This beautiful fall wedding took place at Terrace on the James on the 8th floor of Lynchburg, Virginia's tallest building. We shot photography for Tim & Mez from prep at the Craddock Terry Hotel through the end of the night. The evening ceremony overlooked the downtown skyline as the sun set, with a reception dinner just inside and a dance floor back out on the terrace. To complete the evening, the first annual Zombie Walk took place during our post-ceremony poses, making for some unique opportunities!




Rachel Hill - Equestrian Video & Photography

Future college student Rachel Hill needed a video and several pictures to submit to equestrian schools she was applying to in the fall of 2011. It needed to be a 5-minute documentary to allow the schools to get to know her a little while getting a look at her riding skills. We captured an interview of her and set it to clips of her riding. The shoot took place at Featherdown Farms just north of Baltimore, Maryland.




Derrick Aboagye & Belinda Ofori - Wedding Photography & Video

It's rare for a wedding to display an interweaving of cultures as beautifully as Derrick and Belinda's did on September 17, 2011. The Ghana and American cultures collided in Lynchburg, Virginia, and we were there to capture it through both videography and photography. From pre-wedding interviews throughout the day, to a rousing celebration of a ceremony at Lynchburg College's Snidow Chapel, to a lively reception at New Covenant Schools, to post-wedding interviews, we tried to capture every ounce of the couple's story.




Christine Kennedy - Event Photography

Christine Kennedy, VP of the Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, was set to speak at the 40th "Leadership Lynchburg" event and needed action shots from the first session of this nine-week course. As professionals from around the region arrived on the scenic campus of Sweet Briar College, we were there to capture the event through a photo gallery of highlights for the first part of the day.




Westley Rogers - Ancestry Audio Recording

Prior to the Civil War, 1.5 percent of the United States' 31.5 million citizens were free blacks. Roanoke, Virginia resident Westley Rogers' ancestors mainly fell into this rare category. One day, Westley chanced upon a man who had researched his ancestors in-depth, assistant director of Lynchburg, Virginia's Old City Cemetery Ted Delaney. This audio recording is meant to help preserve Westley's family history. It features Ted talking about his findings, with visuals straight out of a presentation he compiled in his time at the cemetery.




ICF International - Senator Mark Warner Visit Documentary (Coming Soon)

One of the largest government contractors in the US, ICF International, was getting set to expand their Martinville, Virginia operations by an 84,000-square-foot building and 539 jobs. On August 25, Senator Mark Warner visited their temporary headquarters in Martinsville for a tour, press conference, and tour of the construction site. ICF needed the event captured, and we produced this news-package-style documentary using crisp soundbites from the press conference set to B-roll from throughout his visit.




Bryant Gebhard-Brittani Thompson Engagement Photography

As Brittani Thompson arrived for another school year in Lynchburg, Virginia, she said goodbye to her fiance' Bryant Gebhard for another year away from him. However, with the help of a historic building and its artsy spiral staircase, a new fountain park by the James River, a light kit, and the couple's fun personalities, Bryant and Brittani had a photoshoot chock full of memories they could re-live in the months ahead.




Phil Karam & Amy Alderman - Wedding Photography & Video

It was an epic couple having an epic wedding and in need of an epic audiovisual team to capture it. Over two days, our team followed Phil and Amy around to some of the most picturesque locations in Roanoke, Virginia, from the Hotel Roanoke, to the St. Andrews Catholic Church, to the Taubman Museum of Art. In the end, it took a four-camera operation for video and two-camera operation for photography to capture the wedding weekend.




Christine Kennedy - Professional Portraits

The Lynchburg Regional Chamber of Commerce's Vice President, Christine Kennedy, needed professional portraits for use in publications and online. We shot the session at the Craddock Terry Hotel and Conference Center, a staple of the newly-renovated heart of downtown Lynchburg and a beautiful collision of history and modern elegance.




Leah Walker - Senior Portraits

To celebrate Leah Walker's graduation from high school, we shot a session with her on her family's Ohio property. The warm, golden evening lighting perfectly complimented the beautiful rural setting, making the ideal backdrop for Leah's portraits. A strong focus on natural backlighting completes the dramatic look of most of the pictures.




Night in His Glory 2011 - DVD

For the second consecutive year, the True Worshippers asked us to shoot their DC-area worship event. This year's artists included London's Sonnie Badu, Kenneth Appiah, Minister Tutu, and Pastor Bezaleel. For the DVD, we did a three-camera operation, using Glidecam shots throughout the building the capture the standing-room-only crowd.




Shane Stimpson & Rachel Ritchie - Wedding Video (Coming Soon)

For Shane and Rachel's wedding video, we started with a girls' prep shoot in Forest, Virginia, then captured final prep and the ceremony at Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg. For the ceremony, we used a three-camera operation, with a session with the couple directly afterwards for the ability to re-create and shoot key elements of the ceremony unobtrusively.




Patrick Andrews - Senior Portraits

How does a staple of a university's student body commemorate 17 years worth of work? With a photoshoot at symbolic and picturesque locations around town! Patrick Andrews chose downtown Lynchburg, Virginia; a field on the outskirts of town; and the top of one of the highest elevations in town, also home to a hobby of his: the first-of-its-kind Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre.




Shaun Smith & Lee Overstreet - Wedding Video

It would only be appropriate for the wedding video of Shaun and Lee to match the beauty and feel of their summer wedding in Virginia. From closeups at the prep and ceremony site, Old Pate Chapel, to sweeping shots gliding around the dance floor at the reception venue, Timberlake Tavern, we tried to capture every bit of beauty in the couple's 10-minute video.




From Dreams to Screams: Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens Tampa - Documentary

In May 2011, Busch Gardens Tampa unveiled their most extensive thrill ride since the park opened in 1959, Cheetah Hunt. Devin Olson Media was on hand to shoot a detailed, 10-minute documentary for COASTER-net.com interviewing the brains behind the coaster in depth, exploring the implications of the attraction, and hopping on board for a ride.




"Osabarima" by Yaw Osei-Owusu - Performance Video

Rising worship artist Yaw Osei-Owusu needed a performance recorded to get the word out about the first single from his debut album, "Osabarima." We utilized a three-camera setup and simplistic close-ups to convey the feel that Yaw was going for. Within two weeks of its release, Yaw's fans had viewed the video 21,000 times.




Region 2000 - Documentary

To mark its first ten successful years of growth, Virginia's Region 2000 economic district and its resident Technology Council hired Devin Olson Media to capture its past, present, and future through a six-minute documentary. The final results were shown at a commemorative awards banquet attended by some of the region's most powerful business and education leaders.




Terrace on the James - B-Roll

The owners of a unique restaurant to its region, Terrace on the James, needed their facilities captured for use on a TV show. Devin Olson Media used specialized stabilization equipment to shoot a well-paced, fluid tour of the restaurant and its patio eight stories above the nearby James River and downtown Lynchburg, Virginia.




Josh Weaver & Kayde Mason - Wedding Photography

Josh and Kayde aren't the traditional couple, and they didn't want traditional photography. Their unique, fun personalities called for a matching tone in photography for their prep, ceremony, poses, and reception. The photography took place indoors and outdoors at a church near Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia.

An entrepreneur from Roanoke, Virginia needed his speaking abilities captured for the professional world to see, and his advertising agency contracted Devin Olson Media to capture audio and video for one of his keynote addresses with a multi-cam setup.

What happens when the couple behind an audiovisual production company gets married? A fast-paced, 22-minute-long documentary chronicling their lives and their life together, from before they met, to how they fell in love, to the proposal, to the wedding -- all driven by interviews and actual B-roll compiled from years of archives.




Dino & Angela Tsolis - Wedding Video

The beauty of historic Savannah, Georgia and the story of Dino and Angela Cassar were the two themes that needed to be captured in this interview-style video. With interview clips and soundbites throughout the 10-minute documentary, viewers can watch the destination wedding unfold at Lafayette Square and The Mansion on Forsythe Park as they learn about the couple's story.




Theme Park Coaster Club - Identity Graphics

When the rapidly-growing Theme Park Coaster Club started a new phase in the organization's history, it needed fresh, eye-catching graphics to help craft its new identity. We designed bright colors and simplistic, elegant roller-coaster-like curves into the new logo and swoosh, and started using the new logo in banner ads and other graphics immediately.




Kenneth & Doree Burrows - Wedding Photography

Kenneth and Doree wanted their wedding photography to be simple and candid. Gone were the traditional posed pictures; instead, our team of four focused on shooting the couple and their guests in the moment, with a heavy focus on the reception and its craziness on the dance floor, complete with constant action by the breakdance team Kenneth belonged to.




Shanta Washington - Senior Portraits

After years of working towards completing her undergrad, Shanta finally received her cap and gown and prepared to walk across the stage. To mark the event, she needed a portrait shoot both in her cap and gown and in a professional outfit. We shot her at a historic mansion in the spring time, with the soft evening sun to light her.




Yaw Osei Owusu - Artist Photoshoot

Virginia worship artist Yaw Osei-Owusu was in the process of recording his first album and needed pictures for use in promotional images for upcoming concerts, future CD covers, and around the web. This shoot in downtown Lynchburg, Virginia set to capture two different sides of Yaw: the casual artist, and the professional performer.




Jason Balinskas - Web Show Intro

Jason Balinskas was prepping to launch his YouTube show: The "I Really Want To Be On Wipeout" Show. The show's goal was to become his audition for casting on the reality show Wipeout, so its 12-second motion-graphics-based intro needed to match the show's style and help prove to the judges that Jason had what it took to become a contestant.




COASTER-net - Identity Graphics Package

COASTER-net, one of the leading informative thrill-ride and -park communities, was coming up on the launch of its web site's complete redesign to celebrate its 12th year online. To commemorate the relaunch, we designed a new identity graphics package consisting of standardized site news and announcement images; new business cards; staff badges; and most noticeably of all, a new logo and trademark swoosh.




Haley Toyota - TV Spot Shoot

One of the most well-known names in the Central Virginia auto industry, Haley, needed a new TV spot shot at one of its Richmond-area dealerships. Its advertising agency, JVS Marketing of Florida, contacted us for the shoot, which involved an in-house talent and transforming part of the new Haley building into a production studio for the day. The final 30-second spot aired throughout the region.




Aaron & Whitney Paradis - Wedding Video

This late winter wedding took place during 72-and-sunny weather in beautiful downtown Savannah, Georgia. The bride's parents wanted to give the couple one last surprise for their big day in the form of their wedding being captured to its fullest through our video work. We followed the couple around from prep at the Mulberry Inn, to a photoshoot in Forsythe Park, to the ceremony and reception at the Charles H Morris Center.




Christen Olson - Bridal Portraits

When Christen got married in May 2010, a mere one day of getting to enjoy the dress she picked out for the special occasion just wasn't enough. After "trashing" it in the Atlantic at the end of the summer, she enjoyed wearing it again for a post-wedding bridal portrait shoot atop a mountain looking out over the city of Lynchburg.




Jeremy & Kristy Morris - Wedding Video

Jeremy and Kristy's wedding took place near the scenic Smith Mountain Lake in the middle of September, and we wanted to capture the full beauty of the occasion with every possible means. From a resort hotel to a peninsula jutting into the lake at sunset, we were honored to follow the couple around and capture the day from both the bride and groom's perspectives, with two cameras and five mics to make sure that all of the important moments were captured as fully as possible.




Jacob & Megan Walker - Wedding Video

In their nearly year-long engagement, Jacob's time in the Army had kept him away from Megan for all but a few days. We tell their unique story through interviews for the first half of the video as the footage follows them around in the days leading up to their wedding. In the second half, they're united in marriage just before he has to leave her once more.




Kenneth Burrows & Doree Goad - Engagement Photography

Kenneth and Doree needed a photoshoot of engagement pictures to announce their upcoming wedding to their friends online and through their invitations. We shot the couple showing off their best dance moves and poses inside the beautiful studios of the Dance Theatre of Lynchburg in the historic downtown district of the city -- the site of the couple's upcoming April 2011 wedding.




Jerad & Andrea Lavey - Wedding Video

For Jerad and Andrea, one of the certainties from the start was that they both wanted a destination wedding. They selected the luxuriant Homestead Resort in the mountains of Virginia as the site, and needed a wedding video to show off the beauty of not only the occasion, but also the setting. From the quaint chapel where they sealed their vows to the Crystal Ballroom where they danced the night away, this 15-minute wedding video is being produced to truly capture the elegance of the day.




Patrick Andrews - Business Card

Death-defying coma survivor and popular video personality of Lynchburg, Virginia Patrick Andrews needed a business card to direct acquaintances to his quickly-growing array of on-camera work. He wanted a picture taken during a recent trip to the Hoover Dam on the front, and a compilation of stills from his most well-known appearances on the back. We combined those elements with a bright, warm look to fit Patrick's vivacious personality.




Josiah Tillett & Alyssa Clark - Engagement Photography

Josiah and Alyssa were reunited in December 2010 amidst their last few months of separation leading up to their 2011 wedding. With fresh snow on the ground and a lake frozen over, a scenic location in Forest, Virginia became the perfect backdrop for the couple's engagement pictures.













Yaw Osei-Owusu - Portraits

Coinciding with the True Worshippers 2011 Promo filming, we shot a number of portraits of True Worshippers president Yaw Osei-Owusu atop a loft inside the Muse Coffee Company's Wyndhurst location in Lynchburg, Virginia. We shot several poses and several candid portraits of Yaw at work with dramatic natural light pouring through the windows.

True Worshippers president and founder Yaw Osei-Owusu wanted to announce what 2011 would have in store for his organization. We shot him in a coffee-shop setting as he chronologically runs through the events and movements in store for the new year, from community service projects to the year's major worship concert.




COASTER-net.com Version 12 - Teaser

The theme-park-related community COASTER-net.com was preparing to announce a new version of their web site and needed dramatic motion graphics to convey the significance of the site's upgrade. We emphasized the main bullet points of the site's "version 12" in a celestial- and roller-coaster-themed 30-second spot.




COASTER-net.com T-Shirt - Promo

COASTER-net.com was ready to launch its official line of apparel and needed a 30-second motion-graphics promo. The promo needed to not only capture the essence of the clothing's style, but also broaden the demographic of the apparel's appeal. It was launched in plenty of time to announce the first T-shirt in the line well in time for the Christmas shopping rush.




"On the Outside" by Matthew Mason - Music Video

Musical artist Matthew Mason was looking to have his first music video produced. He had written an acoustic song called "On the Outside," and chose this one to share with the world visually. We tied in the theme of the song by using desolate locations both of decay and vibrant beauty, and, as always, plenty of detail shots to compliment the main visual subject matter.




Wayne & Sarah Huggins - Wedding Video

The wedding of Wayne and Sarah wasn't any ordinary wedding shoot, but rather a two-day extravaganza giving us the privilege to follow the bride and groom from rehearsal, to rehearsal dinner, to prep work, to photoshoots, ceremony, and reception. The 15-minute video is being edited with a classy, elegant feel to match the theme of the wedding weekend.




Ashley Volk - Trash the Dress Video

It was the place where her now-husband had proposed to her. It was the setting of their first pictures as an engaged couple together. And now, six months to the day since their wedding, Ashley Volk wanted it to be the site where she attempted what no bride had done before. We were there with multiple cameras and angles to document the once-in-a-lifetime experience of jumping from a 50-foot bridge into the James River -- in full wedding attire.




Chop Dawg Studios - 2011 Promo-Reel

In just a year's time, Chop Dawg Studios' 2010 promo-reel (our term for a mix of a promo and demo-reel) had become outdated with an ever-expanding list of clients. The 2011 edition shows off the best and newest of their handiwork with a minute-long video crafted fully with motion-graphics technology to make web pages come to life -- both on the screen and off.




Christen Olson & Rochelle Preut - Trash the Dress Pictures

From college leadership partners and roommates to brides with weddings less than a month apart, Christen and Rochelle had been close for the past two years. When they wanted to trash their dresses together, they chose the shoreline of downtown Virginia Beach for the accompanying photoshoot. We took every risk to make sure that the memorable moments were captured to their full potential, from the beach to the beyond-waist-deep surf.




Kelley Rucker - Professional Portraits

Kelley Rucker is a woman with a multitude of professional responsibilities on her shoulders, from resident assistant at a large college, to founder of a blossoming wedding-planners' society, to an active wedding planner. As Kelley's career started taking off, she needed professional headshots for future opportunities. We conducted this photo session in back of the historic Carter-Glass Mansion, with the beautiful backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains complimenting the soft evening lighting.




Walker-Steinbeck - Family Portraits

The Walker and Steinbeck families were together for a few days at the Walkers' property in Northwestern Ohio -- the opportune time to capture the families in a beautiful golden-hour photoshoot. Individual and group portraits accompanied candid shots of the kids at distinct stages of life, all with a beautiful rustic backdrop of the farm.




Pohanka Hyundai - Promo Material

One of the promiment auto dealerships in the DC area wanted to put its cars to the test on camera. For a promotional, we shot video and captured audio as prospective customers took the newest Hyundai models on test-drives around Fredericksburg, Virginia. Afterwards, we conducted interviews with the prospectives along with current Hyundai owners to grab testimonials for immediate radio broadcast and eventual web and / or TV use.




Kaleo - Promo

Michigan native Gary Ashby, Jr. was closing in on his life goal of establishing a number of companies underneath the banner of its parent, known as Kaleo. He needed a dramatic promotional to serve as a teaser leading into the unveiling of the parent company's web site, and we used over 700 layers to bring history alive and travel through the centuries of great men called by God.




MyLU Web Portal - Announcement Video

Liberty University was years into development and 10 months away from releasing a new web portal that would change the way its students manage their lives. The MyLU web portal was unveiled to students in several stages, with this video being the teaser to lead them into learning about it. After eight months of work and hundreds of graphical layers, the video also creates an entire virtual campus.




Night in His Presence 2010 - DVD

The sponsors of the Night in His Presence 2010 were looking to capture their event on camera and produce a DVD with the footage, so we used a two-camera setup to capture artists flown in from around the globe in addition to the energetic crowd. The hour-and-a-half DVD showcases several of each artist's songs and other highlights of the night all while trying to capture the spirit of the event.

As the DVD itself for the Night of Presence 2010 was wrapping up production, we created this minute-long promotional to announce the DVD's arrival. The promo blends several layers together with text and video for a style that conveys the fiery, powerful feel of the original promo for the event itself. The main difference is in the footage of the artists and massive crowd in action.

A newly-engaged couple was looking to have pictures done to show their friends when they announced their engagement to the world. They wanted a classy style to the pictures, so we chose an elegant area of the D.C. suburbs near the couple with a blend of natural scenery along with newer and more historic buildings.




Jonathan & Anastasia Josephs - Wedding Video

One of the most beautiful weddings of the year took us to the rural outskirts of Central Virginia. Fitting with the couple's vision, we created a warm, detailed video showcasing the highlights of their day. We used a two-camera operation to capture the bride and groom's prep work, pre-ceremony photos, the stunning evening ceremony outdoors, the post-ceremony photoshoot, and the reception in an elegant ballroom.




Thank You, Jerry & Becki! - Documentary

Students of Liberty University were looking for a way to thank their chancellor and his wife, and this ten-minute documentary made for the ideal outlet to do so. Interviews with students were compiled over several months as they thanked Jerry and Becki for their outstanding generosity and character via personal stories, and the couple was surprised with the video after the conclusion of their third year over the school.




Liberty University - May 2010 / Finale Video

After four years of monthly music videos showing off life on campus at Lynchburg Virginia's Liberty University, it came time for the grand finale. This ten-minute video follows the Class of 2010 as they finish checking off their Liberty bucket lists. When the main star realizes she still has one death-defying stunt left on her list as she prepares to graduate, it puts our crew to the test behind the scenes to pull off our most daring video-shoot yet.




A Night In His Presence - 2010 Promo

The organizers of this year's A Night in His Presence event needed a fiery new promo to convey the excitement of an event that would bring together Christian musical artists from halfway around the globe. This minute-long video achieved that through motion graphics, compositing, and audio that made simple text, pictures, and stock footage transform into an inferno of explosions and fire.




Liberty University - March Offer Video

Liberty University's University Advancement department wanted to tell its applicants, inquiries, and confirmed students about its vast scholarship opportunities, and wanted to tell them through this motion-graphics promo. Fitting with the school's set color palettes, textures, and font styles, this video makes the standard promotional graphics come alive in a 45-second video to be distributed to thousands via email blasts and related web pages.




StarSpark - Episode One

To help expand our rapidly-growing list of talent for future productions, we hosted this event. This local talent-finding program drew a crowd to the campus of Liberty University where two judging rooms sat ready to screen and cast aspiring vocal, on-screen, and behind-the-camera talents. Meanwhile, Devin Olson Media veteran vocal talent Daniel Wrape served as the show's host.




Perfect Plate - TV Spot 2

On the heels of the first TV spot we produced to show off the Perfect Plate diet book with Miss USA 2005 Chelsea Cooley, it was the turn of the book's author himself to pitch his product. The pitch was straightforward, and the video needed to be as well, so we used light motion graphics playing a minimal role on top of the video. This time, the fitness guru himself, Dr. A.T. Dunn, talks about just how far he's willing to go to guarantee results. A new closing slate provides maximum opportunity for viewers to take advantage of the newly-expanded list of major bookstores selling the book.




Liberty University Dorm M28-3 - 2009-10 Year-End Video

One of the arguably tightest-knit residence halls at Liberty University, Main Campus Dorm 28-3, wanted to surprise its 70 girls at its weekly hall meeting. They did so with this sentimental, 10-minute-long video traveling back through the school year to noteworthy events that helped bring the hall closer. With the help of the hall's "big four" leadership team, the foundation of the video at its core is interviews detailing what the girls truly meant to the leadership, favorite memories, and a look toward the future. However, the blooper reel wound up becoming a video all of its own for the last several minutes of the production.




Discover Lynchburg - 2010 TV Spot

Fitting with the Lynchburg Regional Convention and Visitors' Bureau's new theme of "Discover Lynchburg From a New Perspective," the city needed an ad campaign that would be fresh, new, and funky. To draw visitors from one of the largest markets in the country, the Greater Washington, DC metropolitan area, we produced a spot that puts a new spin on the average-versus-incredible concept. Suddenly, a family's afternoon skimming through a travel guide becomes a fast-paced trip to an assortment of the Lynchburg region's noticeable landmarks.




Godparent Home 5K - 2010 Race Pictures

The Godparent Home, in partnership with Riverside Runners, was hosting its annual 5K near downtown Lynchburg on the scenic Blackwater Creek Trail. We documented it with a collection of nearly 700 pictures documenting not just the wide angles, but the details around the race and within the race. From the kids dancing around and giving high-fives to the runners struggling uphill to the finish line, we tried to capture the emotion of the event along with its more general essence.




Crisis Line of Central Virginia - 2010 TV Spot

To help accomplish the Crisis Line of Central Virginia's mission of saving lives, they were seeking to start from scratch with a new summer campaign to combat suicide. The theme of the 2010 TV spot is "there's help," and uses a symbolic, almost abstract audiovisual concept of appearances versus true thoughts. Three stars are shown outwardly while their inner thoughts are audible in a combination of a more traditional video, with motion graphics and surround-sound audio.




From Dreams to Screams: Intimidator 305 at Kings Dominion

COASTER-net.com, one of the largest theme-park- and thrill-ride-geared sites online, had the opportunity to showcase the debut of the tallest, fastest gravity-driven roller coaster in North America just before its grand opening. This 10-minute-long documentary, the first in a series entitled "From Dreams to Screams," is scripted first around a chronological timeline of the ride's conception to media day, then around a chronological play-by-play of the ride's layout. Interviews with the key players in the ride's history and stunning footage of the ride in action are the threads that tie this feature together.




Entrepreneur Initiative - Promo

The founder of a new organization was looking for a minute-long promo that would act as a teaser for their launching event. It needed to creatively funnel a large demographic into a specialized group for aspiring college-aged entrepreneurs, and it needed to effectively send them to both future announcements detailing more information and meetings themselves. We accomplished this through use of creative text within a world of dramatic full-HD motion graphics.




Ruben Studdard Concert - TV Spot

American Idol season two winner Ruben Studdard was set to perform in Virginia to help benefit the Master's Inn, an area kids' camp. Master's Inn needed a 30-second TV spot to air in the Lynchburg-Roanoke region for the next two weeks, starting during American Idol. They also needed an extremely fast -- overnight, in fact -- turnaround. The spot uses heavy motion graphics to help convey the excitement of the event, and reinforces accompanying audio used for radio broadcast concurrently.










Perfect Plate - TV Spot With Miss USA 2005 Chelsea Cooley

Dr. A.T. Dunn -- a fitness guru, former international weight-lifting champion, speaker, and retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major -- had co-authored a new book on healthy dieting with Miss USA 2005 Chelsea Cooley and needed a 30-second TV spot. The spot features Chelsea discussing her personal testimonial of using the dieting method known as the Perfect Plate.




Liberty University Flames Pass - Announcement Promo

Liberty University was getting set to roll out a new ID card -- its first in-house card customized to the school -- and needed a video to announce it to 7,000 students gathered in its weekly Wednesday convocation. We scripted out this video to convey the excitement of the card's all-purpose nature and enlisted the talent of one of the school's current students.




Liberty University Dorm M28-3 - Leadership Team Photoshoot

The Fall-2009-semester leadership team of Liberty University's Main Campus hall 28-3 was having an evening leadership retreat at a local farm. First, however, they blindfolded their girls and took them to downtown Lynchburg for a photoshoot of the fourteen in their classy apparel. The event made for 55 edited shots to use on hall literature, as decorations, and online -- the best of a batch of 330 pictures total.




Ryan & Jacqueline - Engagement Photography

Ryan and Jacqueline had recently gotten engaged, and wanted portraits to send their friends in wedding invitations, use at their wedding, post online, and have to keep. They had specific poses and angles in mind around historic downtown Lynchburg, Virginia and more natural settings in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In a short turnaround time, they received 60 edited and 660 raw pictures from the photoshoot.




Justin Schroder - Live Performance

Lynchburg, Virginia musician Justin Schroder played a two-hour morning performance along with a bassist and percussionist, and we captured the event for them. They played a set of well-known instrumentals during a local race to help motivate the runners and joggers passing by. Once the footage was shot, they needed us to break it into ready-for-the-web video clips and audio tracks for each song performed.




Nana Kwesi Bediako - Concert Promo

This production helped announce a worship concert / album launch event featuring some of Ghana's biggest names in Gospel. The event would be taking place in Bronx, New York on August 29, 2009, and needed a creative thirty-second promo. The final product featured full motion graphics utilizing both text and images to creatively convey the concert's details.




Sonnie Badu - Voting Promo

Supporters of vocalist and worship leader Sonnie Badu wanted to help their contestant out in a race for "Best Gospel Act" via a Beffta.com contest. They chose to do so with a one-minute promo. This video combines creative text with clips of past events Badu graced with his vocals, all set to an upbeat instrumental track and accompanying sound byte.




BJ Williams - Senior Video

This video recaps a Liberty University senior's time in school through stills showing off highlights of his time as an undergrad: meeting influential speakers, spending time with friends, and scouting scenic locations. The pictures were intercut with clips of interviews conducted with former roommates and friends, and the finale consisted of footage of BJ at graduation, celebrating his achievement.




Lee and Kristine Sandy - Wedding Video

Lee Sandy and Kristine Boyce were preparing to tie the knot in Dayton, Ohio, and needed a fast-paced 15-minute recap of the ceremony and reception set to music along with an uncut version of the ceremony. We used a two camera-operation for the ceremony: one atop a stand and tripod for establishing shots, and one capturing the event up close and personal. In addition, we captured crisp audio of the vows via a wireless mic on the groom.




Night of Worship - Promo

Concert sponsors and organizers needed an extended promotional for a July 4 worship event, with a dramatic, yet exciting tone. We created a three-and-a-half-minute event video showcasing past years' events, with sound bytes, music clips, stock footage, and music videos of both the speakers and worship leaders to give an idea to attendees of what they could expect from the 2009 Night of Worship.




CampuSERVE - Promo

A ministry of Liberty University focusing on spreading the Gospel through humanitarian means wanted a promotional video detailing the normal activities students can take part in on any given Saturday morning throughout the school year. Devin produced an interview-style piece with fast-paced B-roll he shot in the downtown Lynchburg community at the College Hill CampuSERVE site.




Crisis Line of Central Virginia - TV Spot

The Crisis Line requested use of the original TV spot for a second straight summer in their annual suicide-prevention campaign. The thirty-second commercial aired on 1,289 spots in Central Virginia on stations including ESPN, Nickelodeon, Family Channel, BET, Comedy Central, TNT, and USA between 3 p.m. and midnight.



Crescentwood Townhomes - Promo

A new townhome complex adjacent to Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia needed a promotional video showing off the complex exterior and every room of a standard three-story unit. Its first showing was an apartment fair in April 2009 for potentially thousands of students to view at the Crescentwood table.



Kevin Roose Book-Signing - Event pictures and video

After completing his internationally-recognized and widely-acclaimed book The Unlikely Disciple: A Sinner's Semester at America's Holiest University, author Kevin Roose revisited the home of his book's subject matter, Lynchburg. He asked Devin to cover his April 10 public appearance -- consisting of a book-signing, speech, and Q&A session -- through pictures and video for his official blog.




PENSA 2009 National Conference - Dramatic video

The third video that the 2009 PENSA National Conference requested to help promote their summer event was a dramatic video based on the reading of a poem written by one of their members. The black-and-white video features footage of the member reading his poem and voiceovers with B-roll of him walking around a setting near Washington, D.C.




PENSA 2009 National Conference - "PENSA 911" video

The second video that the PENSA 2009 National Conference contracted us to do was a 15-minute action-comedy. The entire video was shot in a single day and edited on a tight schedule, with a 1-minute trailer released just 2 days after the day of shooting. The video follows the adventures of a special police force out to capture conference attendees who pay late, partially pay, and try to get away with not paying entirely.




Supa Starrzz - "I Wish" music video

This four-minute music video showcases the members of the Virginia-based R&B group Supa Starrzz and their song "I Wish." The love song features artists Diamond Heaven and Hotfire starring as the two lead characters of a love story, on screen with two female talents and a cast of supporting actors and actresses.




Lee and Kristine Sandy - Engagement photo-shoot

This shoot consisted of eighteen pictures, with three versions of each in the final batch: normal color, black-and-white, and sepia. The couple wanted headshots, full body shots, and engagement-ring shots. The locations used were: a deserted road, a fountain, a cross, a wall, a plaque, and a Southern-style mansion.




Jack 'Deejay Ed' Edma - Promo photo-shoot

Twenty versions of several pictures comprised the final batch of this photo-shoot. The locations included a tunnel, a stairwell, an open gate, and a road. Final versions ranged from completely black-and-white, to color foregrounds with black-and-white backgrounds, to whited-out backgrounds.




Supa Starrzz - Promo photo-shoot

The two members of the R&B group Supa Starrzz, Diamond Heaven and Hotfire, wanted a set of pictures to be used for future promotionals and representation of their musical talent. Various edits in the final batch included both black-and-white and color versions of shots taken at various locations in the mountains of Central Virginia.




PENSA 2009 National Conference - Promo video

The first promo requested for the upcoming PENSA 2009 National Conference featured a compilation of footage from past conferences and a closing segment shot in the Virginia mountains. PENSA's vision was for a video divided into several segments to showcase the various highlights of the event, which is exactly what the final product ended up looking like.









Unity Youth Revival (Tampa Bay, FL) - Event recap / promo video

Capturing the 2008 event and promoting the third-annual revival for the following year were the two main goals of this production. Filming took place over a three-day period spanning the length of the event taking place in sunny Tampa Bay, Florida. Interviews with the speaker and event founders and co-ordinators are interspersed throughout for a documentary-like feel.



Tied Worship Ministries (Jacksonville, FL) - Band promo video

This band, with members dispersed from Virginia to Florida, came together for their annual cross-country tour in the summer of 2008. It was then that production of this documentary-style promo took place. Performances, interviews, and other B-roll combine to shape an eight-minute video featuring studio recordings of covers and original songs from Tied.



Crisis Line of Central Virginia TV spot

This video, originally a one-minute public service announcement intended exclusively for web distribution, was picked up by the Crisis Line of Central Virginia for a summerly campaign appearing in 1,438 cable-TV spots on ABC Family, USA Network, TNT, Hallmark, MTV, and TBS. It was shot atop the Peaks of Otter in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the evening wake of a storm.








PENSA 2007 conference - Event promo

PENSA needed a promo video for their 2007 conference, and they needed it quickly. This video was compiled overnight with minutes' notice with most of the footage filmed fresh, while blended with PENSA members from across the country in the style of a live show.



Michael and Millie Shipe - Wedding recap

Michael and Millie wanted a compilation of their Fourth-of-July wedding and reception in Washington, D.C. set to favorite slower- and faster-paced love songs. This video accompanies their full recordings of the event from a bystander's point of view, focusing on the day's details.



The family of Billy Graham - Tribute slideshow

A relative of Billy Graham and wife Ruth was looking for a tribute to the evangelist and his wife around the time of her passing. This slideshow was fashioned with historical pictures of the two both individually and as a couple, both at home and on the road. It was set to an instrumental track from family friend Michael W. Smith.
